Our overtly individualized world would like to have us believe that agency is the capacity to act “independently.” But in their own search for increased agency, Bryan Wolff and Marc Vermeeren have found the opposite to be true. In this talk they speak to their journey of pursuing interdependence over independence, both as a new creative collective and in the collective’s first project: “HyperCOOP,” a reimagining of the cooperative supermarket, extending ownership to workers, customers and planet alike.

Bio

In 2020, after working both together and separately in advertising and branding for over 10 years, Bryan Wolff and Marc Vermeeren founded Decentralized Agency. As a creative collective they seek to design desirable systems, tools and thoughts that can increase our capacity to act (agency) by deepening the entanglement with each other; as a practice, species and planet.
