We are thrilled to announce our New Year walk in Austin with artist, Heather Sparks. If you would like to facilitate your own group walk, send over a little bit about yourself and your idea for a group walk at info@index-space.org. Check out the How to Host a Group Walk Guide by Alex Wolfe for more information.

As the New Year begins, let’s take a group walk to reflect on 2024 and how we might navigate and cultivate richer creative practices in 2025.

While wending through Pease Park, we will consider a series of readings, work through guided exercises about wayfinding, and photograph, scan, or sketch (walker’s choice) “tokens” to inspire our journeys in 2025.

This contemplative walk will connect the park’s natural and built landscapes with key concepts on wayfinding through time, space, and creativity. Topics covered include mapping, creating/leaving a trail, and using guiding landmarks and tools.

Please be prepared to walk up to 3 miles over mildly uneven terrain. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a sketchbook and pencil or pen for the guided exercises and token recording. If you would like, you can use a camera or a 3D scanning app (like Luma) to capture tokens as well.
